As a sitting judge, appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court, I work hard to provide justice and to ensure fairness in the judicial and legal systems for all citizens of Cook County, who expect and merit nothing less than judges and courts committed to safeguarding the right of all to receive equal treatment.
My personal commitment is to continue making fair and impartial decisions based on the law and the facts of each case, and to continue serving with integrity, diligence, humility, and common sense.
Prior to serving as a judge, I practiced as a civil litigator for 30 years, rising to become an equity partner in the country’s largest law firms. Serving as Circuit Court of Cook County Judge; a governor appointed Illinois Court of Claims Commissioner; and a Secretary of State Jesse White appointed hearing officer, confirms my belief the courtrooms are not mine: they are the people’s. Each person appearing in court is entitled to fairness, impartiality, and transparency.
It is important for both our democracy and the legitimacy of our legal system that people feel they are treated with courtesy and respect by judges. My temperament and demeanor, combined with my years of experience in multiple legal roles, help me ensure the courtroom is both a fair and neutral place.
It would be a tremendous honor and a privilege to continue serving the people of Cook County as a sitting judge. I have been endorsed and slated by the Democratic Party; favorably rated by ALL reviewing Bar Associations; and endorsed by numerous community, business, and political leaders. I look forward to earning your support.
